Beatriz is an illustrator, author and animator born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico. She graduated from Pratt Institute with a BFA in Communications Design, and lived in Brooklyn, New York for several years. She is interested in children’s books, editorial illustration, animation, branding, and more. 

Beatriz is the illustrator of Dreams from Many Rivers, written by Margarita Engle, and Desert Song, written by Laekan Zea Kemp. Her debut picture book Benito Juárez Fights for Justice earned her an Ezra Jack Keats Honor. 

Her upcoming book, Pearls in the Sand, will come out in September of 2025.
